LET'S SAY NO TO TRUMP AND HIS PLANS FOR MASS DEPORTATIONS, IT IS A BIG MISTAKE TO THINK THAT TRUMP'S ATTACKS ARE NOT DIRECTED AT ALL LATINOS.

In this article I want to give credit to Ms. Maribel Hastings of America 's Voice, from whom I am using a lot of information.

According to a recent poll about the Latino vote in  the most famous newspaper in the United States the New York Times, the results reflected that unfortunately the Republican candidate Trump's attacks against immigrants have not generated greater support for the candidate Kamala Harris, according to the survey more than 35% of Latinos are going to vote for Trump.

The question is why are so many Latinos voting for Trump?  We should think that it is not surprising because of the diversity among the Latino vote, which unfortunately many see as a single voting bloc, which is not true. The Latino community is composed of more than 15 nationalities of different generations, some people born in the United States, others recently became citizens and others with 5 or 6 generations of ancestors who have lived in the area of America before it became the United States, such as areas of Colorado, New Mexico, California and Texas. There are also people of different political perspectives whether conservative right, left and liberal; also of many religions; different social strata, rich, poor, middle class, etc. Many who are professionals to people who have no education and of all races including mestizo people, black people and indigenious people, and even some who are very racist whites, so it is a fact that not everyone is going to think alike.

The problem is that according to studies some Latinos believe that Trump is not referring to them when he comes out with his hateful and racist statements against immigrants and his plans for deportations and mass detentions. In other words, many Latinos believe that when he talks about immigrants, especially Latinos, being criminals or that they have left the jails or asylums of their countries, he is not attacking all Latinos, because they are decent, but this is not correct. They should know that Trump's statements against both Haitians and Latinos are directed to all Latinos or people with Latino appearance even if they have not immigrated recently.

It is important that in this election a large number of Latinos vote for Kamala Harris, who off the bat in comparison to Trump and his racist plans, offers hope and unity. In my opinion, a person like Trump who attacks daily and has vicious plans against immigrants should not have the support of pro-justice people against racism, much less Latinos.

We must also pay attention to Trump's policy proposal and actions. Right now Trump is talking in all his campaign stops and speeches of mass deportation of immigrants something that had not happened since the 1930's and 1950's when millions of Latinos especially Mexicans and also many US citizens of Mexican descent were forcibly deported to Mexico.  If he implements his program included in the 2025 plan that talks about an anti-immigrant policy with massive detentions, we should not fool ourselves that  these deportations will not affect Latinos even if they are born in the United States of many generations.

He also promises massive detentions and deportations, that even he himself said that it will be a bloody story, that he will ask the military, national guards and local police to make raids all over the United States, we must also understand that it will be an economic disaster besides a humanitarian nightmare and as journalist Maribel Hastings said “Maybe many of those Latinos who believe that Trump's policies will not affect them will be surprised if they become victims of racial profiling and fall in some immigration raid just because of their physical features or their color”.
